1946 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Mount Pleasant 1946 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz grows in volcanic soils at the highest point of the Hunter Valley floor. The site was planted by Maurice O'Shea in 1946, with cuttings from the winery's famed Old Hill Vineyard.
The grapes – partially destemmed with a portion added as whole bunches – are placed into open fermenters for cold soaking. After over a week fermenting on skins, the wine is pressed to large format French oak, where it ages for 15 months.
Deep purple crimson, Mount Pleasant 1946 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz has dark red fruit flavours, refined structured, seamless balance and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
